Background and our approach to club kit
THC aims to provide members and supporters with the option to buy a range of playing, training and off pitch kit items offering good quality and value for money.
In 2020 we moved to encouraging players in all teams (except the 1st Teams) of all ages to buy their own playing shirt and skort / shorts - including an allocated club shirt number to avoid duplication. This Policy will continue for the 2021-22 season.
We initiated a review of our kit requirements and suppliers around Easter 2021 led by Jo Robinson working with Anna Mawby, Connor Miller and Shelagh Everett. A range of criteria we established for the review including minimising the impact of any change on current players and families by avoiding a radical change in kit design or approach. This recognised the amount of money hockey folks have already invested in kit and we were mindful of how many clubs players looked where there have been changes of kit suppliers and kit can look a bit of a mish mash!
In Summer 2021, the Hockey Committee agreed to appoint a new kit supplier - Sports Apparel Group and opt for their branded EV2 range of playing kit. They are one of the largest sports kit suppliers in the country based on Yorkshire, and use European Factories. They also work to supply New Balance Kit to professional Football Clubs and the 100 Cricket teams.
SilverFX are no longer trading and we have worked with Andy Turner and the Sports Apparel Group team to do a refresh on our core kit items including fabrics and some elements of design but worked to ensure any new playing kit and core items ordered will sit nicely with the SilverFX range so that we continued to look unified as a club on and off the pitch. The old and new club playing kit items should look fine together so no one should feel the need to order new shirts or kit unless they want to !
We've added a few new items with new designs to mix it up a bit and will be adding specials and limited edition items to the on line Shop during the season !
See details about how things will work and some FAQ's to help you.
We have worked with individuals to resolve any outstanding SilverFX kit order queries or outstanding items, if you've not already been in touch with Sarah Williams or Shelagh Everett please contact us via timperleyhc@gmail.com
We will also have a some THC SilverFX stock items left that we will be selling direct to members at the Club.
