Albert brings a real range of skills and experience to the role of Men's 1s coach - having played, coached and umpired at International level for Trinidad and Tobago and we are pleased to welcome him to Timperley.
As well as coaching in Trinidad and Tobago, Albert has coached in the USA, and in the UK at a number of clubs, and as part of the EH Single System. His wide ranging experience and clear no nonsense approach has made an impact already and with new player joining, and former players returning, there is a positive and upbeat mood in the men's camp this summer!
Albert's experience includes:
Major Tournaments Represented Trinidad & Tobago as a player at the Pan Am Games in 1991 (Cuba), 1995 (Argentina) and 1999 (Canada).
Umpired at the Junior World Cup in Holland 2005, Pan Am Games in Brazil 2007 and the Commonwealth Games in India 2010.
Albert's experience as a retired FIH Grade 1 umpire (outdoor) FIH International umpire (indoor) and Level 3 NPUA umpire and this should also come in handy with the Men's 1s and hopefully keep more boys in blue on the pitch during the game !
The hard work starts now for the lads as Albert will be putting them through their paces over the next few weeks ahead of the warm up friendly matches. They have a Cheshire Cup match on Saturday 17th September at home v. Crewe and Alsager HC before the North Premier Division season kicks off on 24th September.
We'll be introducing the rest of the coaching team over the next few weeks so that everyone can find out a bit more about the team behind the teams !
