The Ladies 5th XI was formed in 2012-13 season to provide a new way to help develop the increasing number of young players coming through the Club's academy.
The team based on a healthy blend of youth (aka fitness, pace, the ability to run at more than one speed, get down low - and get up - and of course slap the ball and use a range of modern day skills) and experience (aka the 'honourables' - some of whom have seen better days and think a tomahawk is something from a John Wayne film!)
The aim of the team is to help younger players gain valuable competitive match experience, learn from a few things from the 'honourables' and support player development to progress up the sides
In our inaugural season we not only achieved our aim of player development but also played some great hockey and we Champions of Cheshire Women's Division 6 a credit to all involved. In our second season (2013-14) the team were runners up in Cheshire Division 5.
Now playing in Cheshire Division 4 the team has found a good level of hockey, with challenge and opportunity for development. Finishing 5th in Division 4 in 2015-16 season the team players have continued to grow and develop.
The team is also has a great group of supporters and parents who regular come to matches and have played a huge part in the success of the team.
Join the team for training on a Wednesday night with throughout the season.
